Pool Closure Extended

Mar 22nd, 2022

Staff has discovered an unexpected water leak in the Nash Recreation Center pool skimmer trough. The skimmer trough holds 6000 gallons of water and is designed to draw water from the surface and pass it through to the pool’s filtration system.  This is a key component to the successful operation of the pool.   Staff has spent countless hours working with Ehmen’s Plumbing, American Leak Detection and Halogen Pools to identify the origin of the leak and repair it.  Due to this setback, the pool will not open as planned on Friday, May 20th.  The pool is now scheduled to re-open on Tuesday, May 31st, pending no unforeseen issues.

The District would like to thank Ehmen’s Plumbing, American Leak Detection and the Oregon Park District maintenance staff for their commitment in identifying the issue and formulating a pragmatic approach to the pools repair.

All Water Aerobic passes will automatically be extended for the duration of the pool closure.  All other members that will not be utilizing Nash Recreation Center during the pool closure may temporarily suspend their pass.  The temporary suspension will extend their membership for the duration of the pool closure.  To request a pass suspension, please contact the front counter receptionist at (815) 732-3101
