On November 28, 1836, Bob Diven’s fourth great grandmother Martha Eliza Mix was born in a log cabin in the new settlement of Oregon City to a widow from New York and a mysterious divorced father from Vermont. So begins the tale of how the threads of English, Dutch, Ulster Irish, Scottish, and German settlers in the New World were woven together in this small town on the Rock River. Based upon his book of the same name, Bob will recount his journeys of pilgrimage, discovery, and understanding of the deep American history that led him.
